ARTISTIC EXCELLANCE

MUCAI Academy is a non-profit, performing arts school designed to make dance accessible for students of all ages, abilities, creeds,  ethnicities, and social economic backgrounds, regardless of ability to pay. For seventeen years, MUCAI Academy's unique performing arts program has been one of Central Ohio's best kept secrets. MUCAI Academy students, of all physical and intellectual abilities, are trained for rigorous college programs and professional careers in the performing arts. Students have the opportunity to perform in two productions per year. In addition, students can apply for membership in our junior dance company, MUCAI Dance Group, and enjoy more frequent and rigorous opportunities to participate in community dance festivals and competitions throughout the state and beyond, like Dance Downtown, Cleveland Dance Festival, Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, New Albany Dance Festival, Ohio Dance Festival, and Youth America Grand Prix. Indian Dance students have a unique opportunity to participate in community performances with Natya Nirvana, a professional Indian Dance company in Central Ohio, at the discretion of the director. MUCAI Academy students have completed intensive Musical Theater programs at the Broadway Dance Center, The Boston Conservatory, and Interlochen.  These opportunities have allowed students to grow, as performers, with grace and professionalism. College dance, music, and theater programs accepting MUCAI Academy students include Carnegie Melon School of Fine Arts, the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Indiana University School of Theater, Drama, and Contemporary Dance, Manhattan School of Music, The Ohio State University Schools of Dance, Music, and Theater, Roosevelt University School of Musical Theater, Otterbein University Schools of Dance, Musical Theater, and Theater, and the Westminster School of Music.
